Help fight harmful changes to immigration policy
The Trump Administration is seeking to change federal immigration rules in order to deny more immigrants their applications for legal residency.
It would do this by expanding the list of benefits that immigration officials may consider in deciding whether an applicant is likely to become a “public charge,” someone who depends on public assistance.
Applicants who are ruled likely to become a public charge are denied green cards.
The administration’s rule change is only a draft. It is not yet final. Therefore, families have no reason to stop receiving benefits at this time.
People across Washington state are opposing these harmful changes. You can help by sharing your own experience.
